Crafting Subtle & Realistic User Interfaces

Mike Rundle’s (old) article on creating subtle and realistic interfaces made its way into my feed reader, thanks Neven, and I enjoyed it. A good read for anyone who considers themselves an interface designer.

Having my daily rhythm disturbed by the start of school meant I never had the chance to work on things afterwards; It was a pretty sharp turn from a lazy summer to hectic schooldays. However, now after a month in school I’m starting to feel like I’m back on track and decided to update the icons I showcased back in June here on Tumblr (No, I can’t remember it either). This icon set is meant to be for both desktop and web application designers and programmers who don’t have time to create their own icons. They will have a generic look so that they will work in any kind of application without looking odd or out of place. Regarding a release date, well there isn’t one. I never like setting release dates because you never know where you might be a few days/weeks/months from now. I’d rather give them a TBA-stamp and release them whenever I feel that they are done.
