Upgrading to Snow Leopard
I am as always late to the show, and was so with purchasing and installing Snow Leopard as well. Having read Siracusa’s review a few times, I had not only gotten a very good review but I had also understood the reason to the lower price and to why it didn’t get as much advertising and marketing. For many people, this is a not so important upgrade having the slogan “0 new features” and only (well, primarily) being a behind the scenes upgrade.
There are unfortunately a few graphical blunders but I don’t want to bring them up because many graphical elements, e.g. the Dock menus, have been remade and look better than ever.
After a few hours of trying it out I’d like to say that it feels much faster, both the OS and applications, and that the GUI has been improved a lot. For those of you who are wondering whether or not you should upgrade:
If you’ve got $30 lying around; upgrade. If not; save some more and then upgrade.
