Hello! I'm Oscar, a student and front-end web developer. This is my tumblelog. More?
I semi-graduated yesterday and now I’ve only got one more year of studying at my current school.
I also went out partying with my friends from school; out at 6 pm, home by 2 am.
You should be like Finder.
I want to browse and buy games. I don’t want to update every day and I certainly don’t want you to install Growl.
Our 100% wool, water resistant felt.
This is one of the reasons why my iPad sleeve/bag will most likely be a Hard Graft one.
UPS needs to get their act together. Just stating that you are out for delivery won’t work because I might not be able to be home during you’re delivery hours.
Either update the package’s delivery info with “out for delivery” only when it is really out for delivery and check of your packages on a list and update the web interface. After that you could send notifications via text or email.
Or set specific time periods when you are out on the roads so se can have an approximated time of delivery (9 - 19 is a bit vague). This way you could set a delivery time for each item (min. 1 hr) based on package size etc. and know whether or not you are able to deliver it today or tomorrow.
This is the end of my rant and the start of my iPad loving.
A little roundup of what’s happening in the next two weeks.
My final week in school is coming up and for me that means: tests (math and physics), bowling and cake-eating. I’m graduating on the 15th so be sure to send me some more cake.
I love vacations and I love work.
BBQ. And that’s all I’m gonna say about my vacation.
I will be freelancing this summer, via Pico and as myself, so if you’ve got any projects or know of any, you should let me know.
My iPad will be here within a week, I recently launched a studio & I’m graduating. I’m super excited about all of these things so I wanted to do two things in between these events.
Well I better brush up my BBQ’ing-skills, get a drink and enjoy the weather.
I’ll see you guys later.
Digest, a new way to microblogIn recent years services like tumblr have become extremely popular due to their ease of use and management, something I take for granted with my busy schedules. However. As a designer Tumblr is seen as either a technical challenge or rather limiting. Enter Digest.
Digest is a new platform I’m working on in my spare time. It takes the micro blogging greatness of tumblr, adds a dollop of a wordpress-like theme engine and a sprinkle of optimisation to create a micro blogging service on aesthetic enhancing roids!
I will be publishing more information and teasers here over the next few weeks. Digest will be self hosted by its users and 100% free.
Well, I’m excited. Tim always makes quality stuff.
Do you remember my old post on game development where I was researching game development books etc? Well, I found something.
Back in April (made an appearance on GitHub on the 22nd) Francesco Cottone released a game development framework called Akihabara. Akihabara is based on Francesco’s own scripts (good ol’ javascript) for creating environments, enemies, items et cetera, and together with the canvas tag in HTML5 you’ve got a retro game.
Why is this so awesome then? I’d like to think that I know games and the web; this is the merging of the two, so the learning curve isn’t that high. When will I make something with it? This fall. I will be using it in a school project with a friend of mine, and we’ve got a lot of fun ideas for games and we hope to incorporate the majority of them into a couple of games.
But now? Back to the sketchpad for some more game ideas.
Red Sweater Software just updated their publishing software MarsEdit to a fancy 3.0 and I’m writing this entry in it. A bit more stable when it comes to Tumblr these days as well as a bunch of new features:
A lot of posts about apps recently, but don’t blame me or anyone else.
Transmit 4 is out. I helped test this while it was under development and it is one of the best FTP apps that I have used. A great app for only $34, so go buy it.
It’s a $19 upgrade for those who bought Transmit 3.
iStat Menus 3 - It’s a nice update. No longer free, but hard to complain with such good software.
Great software. Too bad it crashed my SystemUIServer after 5 minutes.
Those who disapprove of bad language or the inappropriate use of the term (the pejorative one) for a specific sexual orientation et cetera should not read this conversation.
Thankfully, I never heard from him again.
One of my “heroes”, Shaun Inman, just updated his site. Well, he added a new subdirectory which functions as a welcoming message and a job description; Mint, Fever, Shortwave, Horror Vacui & Mimeo* can be seen above. Also, nice acoustic music over at Youtube; Awesome pixel creations at Dribble.
* Mimeoverse: Mimeo and the Kleptopus King
The image says it all: My font doesn’t have a nice name or a reasonable price-tag. It can’t be free, sorry, but it can’t cost $99 either. It has 654 characters, all Latin and 80% Cyrillic, as of now and it took a while to get there.
Added 5 minutes after posting: The person who comes up with the name will get the font for free.
Got suggestions? Great! Send an email to oscar + @ + oscarismy.name or reply with Twitter to @queo.
